Well, the Darling Munchkin has a nasty little cough which has kept her home yesterday and today. I’ve got an appointment for her at 1pm today, to check and make sure it’s not strep (thanks for the heads-up, Raven!)... Better safe than sorry!
Fortunately, the Munchkin is a very healthy child; at 9½, she’s only ever been on antibiotics 4 times, and she’s missed less than 10 days of school - ever - due to illness. Of course, that’s kind of a bad thing, because, when she does get sick, I’m not entirely sure what to do! Ah, that we should all have such troubles.
Unfortunately, the doctor who is our Primary Care Manager is about an hour away. We’ll be changing that soon, I hope, since Beloved Husband got his new job and supplemental health insurance. There is a clinic in town, 5 minutes away, as well as another in Alta Vista, about 20 minutes away, but neither takes TriCare Prime. So,we may disenroll from Prime and use TriCare Standard, which pretty much everyone accepts, and then use the supplemental health to offset the co-pays.
I have to admit, I miss the Husband being on active duty and us being close to a full TriCare Clinic; it made things much easier. [rolls eyes]
So, although I had planned to go up to Lynchburg to run errands today, I’m at home until we need to leave for the appointment.
Hm. I ought to go bake some bread... Or sweep. Or vacuum. Or fold laundry...
