I'm a quilter. Almost all my quilts are made with my machines, but the last part - stitching the bindings to the back of the quilt - are always done by my hand.
Currently, I'm stiching the binding to the backs of 9 baby quilts (if I get my rear in gear, it will be a total of 14 quilts, once all the tops are quilted...) that I've quilted. So far I've completed four, but I must confess that I've had some help.
Smudge is very interested in making sure I'm doing everything properly:
Pixel, of course, prefers to sprawl and demand Skritchiestm when it can be squeezed into her schedule. However, she did bestir herself to confirm Smudge's assessment of my stitching:
However, there was a certain element of frustration, and so she decided to sulk - as only a cat can really sulk (but she did make sure she could snuggle-test the quilt while she was sulking):
Then, both kitties decided that the quilt on my lap was theirs, and theirs alone, so they quickly moved to lay claim....
Soooooo, I didn't get as much done with the bindings as I wanted, but now I know I have deputy Snuggle Testerstm if Darling Munchkin is incredibly busy....
As I said last week, I think I'll put some quilts up on e-Bay and see how they do.... What do you think? If I put them up, will they sell?
Please don't forget that the Carnival of Cats is hosted this week at Music and Cats, so be sure to stop by. The Carnival is posted on Sunday night, and you can send your entries to cats -at- isfullofcrap -dot- com by Sunday noon to be included.
Don't forget, the Modulator posts the Friday Ark every Friday, so let him know you're posting too!
How lovely that they want to "help" with your quilting.
I love all of the colors in that quilt! It reminds me of the boxes of fabric in my closet, next to my sewing machine, which hasn't seen the light of day in a couple of years. *sigh*
