So why have I NOT been mouthy this weekend?

Well, I've had lots of things to do!

Beloved Husband (who really is the Last Best Guy On Earth©... Sorry, ladies, he's already mine!) helped me immensely by building me shelves for my fabric. The frame is up, and I need to put on the WW3-Can't-Touch-It epoxy to protect the wood - and all my fabric!

I'm sure all-y'all (Suh-thun for "all you multitude of people who read my blog") remember my fabric stash?

(And, of course, these small pictoral offerings cannot begin to encompass the Stash™ I've been obsessively collecting for the past six years.)

And now that we're customizing our "new" house to live in for the next 30 years (!! what a change...!), my beloved Stash™ (which is now, sadly, hidden in moving boxes) must have its own home - and a place of honor in that home.

Fortunately in the basement - especially after we end up installing the deck - the fabric will not be exposed to too much sunlight (*Fading!* AAArrrrrggghhhh!).

So, these next pictures will show you what has happened the past couple of days...

Well, FIRST we had to remove all the cr*p from the new storage shed, install the industrial shelving, and then replace all the cr*p... But now it's much more organized! See?

Then we had to go buy lumber... Or wood, whatever the heck y'all want to call it.

(OK, OK, OK - those really LONG boards? Those are what we sub-cut for the horizontal shelving. But all the rest? Fabric shelves!

*Dang*, I love my Guy!)

All right, now for a view of what we've been measure-measure (Hey! don't you know it's measure TWICE, cut ONCE? D'uh!), cut, sand (make it pretty!), place, nail-nail-nail (and "glue-glue-glue" at the same time: Beloved Hubby is determined that these shelves Will Be SOLID!), check for square, install backing, and lllliiiiiffffffttt to fit (did I say "measure-measure-measure"?).

And THIS! This is what happened:

(Oh, you see those "stairs"? That's eventually going to be a part of our "kitty-trail." Hey! I've told you we spoil the purrs! LOL)

So, now I have to EPOXY! and then repeat (twice! ugh) for a good, durable finish.

THEN, I've gotta measure, cut, sand, and epoxy-epoxy-epoxy all the other shelves.

And FINALLY I will gently and reverently place all my Stash™ in its new home, move other sewing and quilting stuff where it ought to go, take LOTS of pictures, and then post them so the other quilters out there can drool and envy my good fortune.

*sigh*

Love the storage!

The epoxy: one-part or two-part?

Kitty trail... heh Our cats get enough (for them) outa the "cat tunnel" I put into the door to the (finished) basement. That I got improved air circulation for the HVAC as well was an unplanned bonus.

Of course, if I ever do convert the garage (only happen if I build a new one), the cat'd need a cat door to that space as well. Of course.

Like the project. Your guy really is handy to have around, eh?

I find myself both jealous and in awe. Fabric does make the world go round. I went back and looked at your other quilt pics. Very much enjoyed them. Thanks for posting them. Great inspiration. I will be anxious to see what you are creating in your new space.
