Today, we're going to give a fond farewell to my trusty little Sony DSC-W1, which has finally given up the ghost. She has served me faithfully for the past three years (give or take), and has gone with me stashed in my purse, ready to pull out and take a quick shot.
I liked her very much, and you can still buy her on Amazon through their outside vendors. She was easy to use, had a wonderfully large LCD screen, and was just a great camera to carry with me.
I'll miss her.
Well, sort of.
Because - *gasp!* - another camera is on the way! It should be here on Monday, and it's another Sony. Yup, I really like these little Sonys! Actually, I also am drooling over one of the bigger Sonys, but the little ones are just too perfect for how I use them.
Anyway, please welcome my new camera, the Sony Cybershot DSC-N1 8.1 mp!
She's got a really cool 3-inch touchscreen LCD, uses a rechargeable Lithium ion battery (yeah, I ordered an extra), and has enough memory to store 500 VGA-sized photos (yeah, I ordered a 1G MemoryStickPro).
I'm looking forward to meeting her, and taking more pictures!
Yeah for a new camera. I was coveting a Canon Rebel yesterday at Baccalureate and darned if I then didnt try to lose my camera. That will teach me to never lust-ha. My camera was recovered and now is lost somewhere in the daughters junk-grrr.
