Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I have another love interest. I sadly confess that the Best Husband in the Universe™ is no longer enough for me. *sigh*
This is so embarrassing. But, I can't help myself! This new man is big, he's strong, he's got gorgeous shoulders and a lovely, um, rear end. He's also very snuggly, and loves to be cuddled. He's European, and comes from a very fine background.
The Beloved Husband knows, and is stoically resigned to his fate - frankly, he's taking it with a lot more forbearance than I thought he would....
... but he still won't let me buy Willem...
Willem is a Friesian horse, bred and born in Europe. His real Mom imported him about two years ago, when he was five years old. These aren't perfect pictures of him, but if you go to Google Images, you'll see a whole bunch of beautiful pictures of Friesian horses (oh, BOY, will you!).
Friesians are known for their long, flowing manes and tails. Willem's mane is braided to keep it neat - you can see in the upper picture, that if his mane were unbraided, it would probably be an inch or two longer than the braids themselves. Friesians are also very solidly built, without being (to my eye, at least) extremely bulky, like draft horses. Actually, they used to be one of the favored horses of knights. You can go here for more information.
I could never afford Wil - his stabling alone is $300/month - but I *do* have grooming and fussing rights. And, if I get off my rear end and start riding regularly, the stable owner has said she'll let me ride him! That's a huge incentive... I'm unlikely to ever own him (so sorry, I don't have an extra $20k available...), but who knows? Perhaps one day he'll be old enough to retire, and I can bring him back to my house and spoil him rotten.
Um, "rotten-er" LOLOLOL!
So. Now you've met the "Other Man." Don't I have good taste?
I can see why you are in love with another male!

C'mon, Kat --
You guys have enough room to both provide your own small stable, etc, and ride, so why not "take the plunge", buy Willem and have him "move in"?
Your munchkin would probably be in 7th heaven!

**THUD***
What a gorgeous GUY he is!!! And I'm jealous...cause you get to ride him and I don't ;)

That is an absolutely beautiful horse!
But pricey!!
I'll have to make my guys all pretty and post some pictures of them - horses here in Kansas don't cost nearly that much!!! Of course, they are just quarter horses or Paints or mutts - not the fancy ones like your Willen!

Oh he is beautiful. I usually don't like dreadlocks - but the look works for him ....
Tell hubby to make room for him :)

Seth, if we were to buy Willem, we'd need to shell out at least $20k...
If YOU can convince the Beloved Husband to shell out that kind of cash, yeahsureyoubetcha I'd bring my snuggle boy home in a heart beat!
Raven, I guess I'm going to have to motivate myself and get back into proper riding form so that I can, um, actually ride *ahem* this gorgeous guy!

Big problem, he is gun shy and afraid everything being European and all.
I bet he likes tea too....
Bad thing with horses for pleasure is there is no key to turn them off when your done riding.

Cut the excuses, buy the damn horse. He's awesome and you know you really want him. Just bat your eyelashes at the "ole man" and cook him his favorite meals for a couple of days, and be extra snuggly.
