And God bless the troops he welcomes home!
Oh, I **wish** I were near an airport like Dallas/Ft. Worth so I could do this...
Thank you so much to ABC News for doing this story - it's a welcome change from the defeatist rhetoric that seems to fill our media.
Thanks for the reminder Kat, and if you are ever in DFW long enough, just let me know and we'll go welcome the heroes home together, OK?

Mr Brady, I am a proud wife of an American Soldier, and a Proud Marine Mom. I want you to know just how much I appreciate what you are doing for our troops upon their return. I heard about you from our Son Joseph when he flew in from Iraq Last Year, he was touched deeply by the reception he received as he set foot on American Soil. We were not able to meet him at the airport as we are stationed at Ft. Bliss. I was so glad Joseph had someone there to welcome him home. Now it is My Husbands return we look forward to in April, I hope he gets to shake your hand. YOU ARE truly "A HERO'S HERO"...Thank you Sir.

Bert,
I am a proud American, and former member of the US Navy. The film clip of your dedication to the US Military soldiers returning from Iraq truly moved me.
I was returning from Baltimore to Chicago early during the Iraq war, and the plane was filled with American Soldiers just returning from Iraq. The pilots recoginized the soldiers, and the entire plane erupted with applause for their dedication to our country.
I also agree with your viewpoint with our Viet Nam vets, and generally how our country has forgotten what others have given their lives for in the past.
I am a huge WWII nut and and amazed at the dedication of our troops, and the sacrifices they have made. Unfortunately most of the people who sacrificed their sons, brothers, or fathers are up in their age. It is too sad to think that we have forgotten as a country the roots, sacrifices, and dedication to allow us to maintain, and retain the freedom that we all enjoy.
On a personnal note. I was in the Navy during the Iran Hostage crisis in 1980, and spent 337 days at sea in 1980, and 257 days continuous. I was so glad to be at home on Dec 23rd and wanting to enjoy my freedom and my country. I will never forget my first true shock of reality that day. My friends and I were walking out of a grocery when I saw an elderly lady pushing a grocery cart to her car, and she was crutches. I felt obligated to help her, and asked if I could help her put her groceries in the car. Her response was to put up her crutches and threatened to beat me with them......27 years have passed and I still wish the rest of the American public could understand what they have, and not let it slip away.
Then end of the story, I have been very successful in my career, and subsequently become and international consultant. The only thing I could ever hope is that the American people could understand the opportunities, and ability to truly believe that there is "NO PLACE LIKE HOME", and my name is not Dorothy!!

I live just outside Richmond,Va. and do a lot of charitable work for operation uplift. Can anyone tell us how we go about giving a welcome-home greeting for our troops arriving at the Richmond airport?
Thanks,

GOD BLESS YOU BERT AND ALL VETERANS AND ALL ACTIVE MILITARY PERSONNEL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO THIS COUNTRY. IN MY OPINION, NO OCCUPATION DESERVES OUR NATION'S GRATITUDE MORE THAN OUR SERVICE MEN & WOMEN. I WOULD LOVE ANY INFORMATION ANYONE CAN PROVIDE ABOUT HOW TO START A PROGRAM LIKE THIS. I LIVE FAIRLY CLOSE TO FLINT METRO AIRPORT- A VERY SMALL AIRPORT. I COULD ALSO GO TO DETROIT METRO, BUT NOT AS EASILY OR FREQUENTLY AS FLINT. I WOULD LOVE TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS. THANK YOU AGAIN TO EVERYONE IN OUR MILITARY SERVICE AND GOD BLESS YOU, GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I was overwelmed with you bert brady.. May God keep you in his hands. For you are the work of our God. I believe we are spoiled Americans! There will always be wars.. These protesters that stand on the road side need to go to work and send their earnings to these soldiers. My prayers to you for what you do for our soldiers that are keeping the wars out of front yards. God bless you, Annette

Bert is a great guy! I am one of the people that he says comes out on the weekends. Bert is a representative of many hard working people that are dedicated to the same cause that Bert is a part of at the airport. Without the total support of the DFW Airport and the airport board none of this would be possible. There is a cadre of volunteers that were there before and after Bert that have worked tirelessly to ensure that every soldier, sailor, airman and marine gets a welcome they will not soon forget.
So when you say Bert is a hero, or deserves a medal, there are a lot more people that are the collective Bert that have to be included and are there with Bert providing the services that our real American heroes receive when they pass through the DFW Airport.
I would like to thank all Americans that have given there first class seats to a returning soldier, or the people that stand up and clap as a group of soldiers pass through the airports of America.
We here at DFW Airport are a microcosm of the feelings of all Americans that our soldiers deserve to feel special for the freedoms they protect for us daily.
If you are interested take a look at www.welcometroops.com for a look at the other parts of that collective Bert that I talk about above. There people are showing not only there Texas Pride but the Pride of America and the American sprit.
