We spent the weekend over at Lake Rawlins so the Darling Munchkin could do all the pool drills as well as the check out dives. *I* thought she'd do a dive or two on Saturday and be done, but I was quite mistaken. She was in the water all day, drills in the morning (in the water) and two dives later on.
The water was COLD! Her wet suit was too big and therefore didn't offer a lot of help, but she soldiered through. No whining, a steady determination to do it, and finally the fun of leading the final dive, with Beloved Daddy and Mr. Randy trailing along.
And so, without further ado, I present the Darling Munchkin, a certified PADI Junior Open Water SCUBA Diver, and her instructor, Randy, of Scuba Schools of Virginia:
Congratulations to my awesome and talented daughter! |
Congratulations to her!!! That's awesome! (Hey, if you ever come down to Key West, you can take her to one of those "swimming with the dolphins" programs. It's not diving, I know, but I bet she'd love it. :D )

Actually, Genevieve, the Munchkin and I will be doing a swim with the dolphins in June, when we're out in Hawaii on the Big Island... We're very excited, and the Beloved Dad-man will be taking LOTS of pictures!
Thanks to all who have sent congratulations, and keep 'em coming: the Darling Munchkin is bouncing with delight!

I took my first dive in a place called Vanuatu, in a marine reserve where nothing can be touched, nothing can be taken. For th4e first time, I visited a world Cousteau had showed me in pictures..and for the first time, beheld beauty that defied description....and will be in my memory forever.
I cannot say how proud I am of you..suffice it to say that you are your mother's daughter.

Munchkin, such an awesome accomplishment. Like your beloved mom, we are all proud of you. Now, be honest, isn't working hard like this an accomplishment you feel proud of? Think of that the next time you have an essay to write. ;-)

Congratulations to the little Munchkin. Hi Munchkin! I am so proud of you.
My husband and I are certified SCUBA Divers and we have loved it. But we did it when we were a lot older then you so what you did is even more awesome.
It is such fun to be under water and swim along with the fish and see all the beautiful things under the water, I know you will love it.
Your mommy is one of my favorite people and I know she is very proud of you too. Your picture with your instructor is so cute and one to save for sure.

What a fantastic job! I remember that it was hard for me to learn how to dive and I was in my twenties! Very proud of you.
The Navy always needs good divers!
