I was just listening to the Newsboys singing "In Christ Alone," from their Adoration album, and it's incredibly uplifting! I had searched it out this morning, because I quoted it in yesterday's Gospel post.
Here are the full lyrics:
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand
That's one of my favorite songs; I first heard it on this album by Margaret Becker, Joanne Hogg, and Moya Brennan.
If I'm not mistaken, all the songs on that album were written by the same guy and several of them are of the same caliber as this one. Well worth the listening, especially if you like Celtic-themed music.

For some reason, Typepad just doesn't like my html. Here's the link to that album again, if you're interested.
Fixed... I've been playing with some of the comment settings, and I took off the "auto-link URLs" option so people could use the "a href" HTML code instead...

Moya Brennan! She's Enya's sister, and every bit as talented. Her whole family are deliciously musical. Now I'm going to have to root around for Moya's version!

Moya or Maire? I've got one album by Maire Brennan, and she's got a LOVELY voice!

Oh, and, BTW, I'm having trouble with HTML in comments. I've got a help ticket in to TPad, but CHC is part of their beta-team, so sometimes wee bugs pop up and scurry across the screen ;-)

Both are right, Kat:

Hopefully this link to Wikipedia works, if not just Search Moya Brennan and it goes right to her.
Moya is the Anglicization of her Irish name of Maire. And in finding the page I also found out she has the same birthday as my Mom! (And 4 days before my husband's birthday / our anniversary!) LOLZ You learn a new thing everyday...
